A special communication channel between Iran and the US regarding the situation in the Strait of Hormuz has become operational.
According to "Press" TV, citing a source, this channel was created to prevent incidents that could lead to military escalation.
The source noted that the parties agreed on the establishment of the channel during recent talks in Switzerland.
Recall that on June 26, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi stated that Tehran would not guarantee safe passage for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz without coordination with Iran.
