According to the Fars news agency, the strike targeted the US airbase that was the source of an earlier attack on an Iranian facility near Bandar Abbas airport.

The strikes were carried out at 04:50 local time, but the exact location of the targeted base has not been disclosed.

Previously, CENTCOM confirmed that US forces shot down four Iranian drones and destroyed a ground control station preparing to launch a fifth drone.
