The sister of the Irish president, Dr. Margaret Connolly, has been detained aboard the ship "Sumud" and is being taken to Israel.
According to Sky News, Connolly is one of at least six Irish citizens on the humanitarian vessel heading to Gaza, intercepted by Israel off the coast of Cyprus.
On May 18, Israeli forces detained at least 28 boats in international waters. The Sumud organization reported complete loss of contact with the seized vessels.
Israel's Foreign Ministry called the movement a provocation and stated there was no humanitarian cargo on board.
