The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the elimination of the nephew of Ismail Haniyeh, former head of Hamas' political bureau, in the Gaza Strip.

He served as deputy commander of the "Nuhba" unit within the armed wing of the radical organization. According to the IDF, the targeted individual had recently been recruiting new terrorists for Hamas.

He also supervised the military training of the "Nuhba" unit. Haniyeh was involved in the October 7, 2023 attack. He was killed in a missile strike in Tehran on July 31, 2024.
