The Israeli Defense Forces carried out a precision strike in Gaza City targeting Izz al-Din al-Haddad, head of Hamas's military wing.

According to Israel's Defense Ministry, al-Haddad was a key organizer of the October 7, 2023 attack against Israel.

Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that al-Haddad tried to evade the demilitarization agreement brokered by the US. Katz warned: "This is a clear message to all murderers: Israel will reach you."
