The Israeli army has announced new casualties during military operations in southern Lebanon.
According to the state broadcaster Kan, 21-year-old Staff Sergeant Mikhail Tyukin from Ashkelon was killed. He served in the reconnaissance unit of the Golani Infantry Brigade. Four of his comrades sustained minor injuries.
The incident occurred when a Hezbollah-operated explosive-laden drone struck a strategic height near Bofor Castle, which had been under Israeli control since May 31. Tyukin was a repatriant from Ukraine, having moved to Israel with his mother in 2020.
