The Israeli Knesset unanimously passed the first reading of a bill to dissolve itself. Elections must be held by October 27, 2026.

The Israeli parliament, the Knesset, has unanimously passed the first reading of a bill to dissolve itself.

According to The Times of Israel, 106 lawmakers supported the bill, with no votes against.

The bill had passed an initial reading in late May. To become law, it must pass three readings in plenary sessions.

Under current legislation, the next parliamentary elections must be held no later than October 27, 2026.
