Kazakhstan is introducing fines for using obscene language online. The new bill has been drafted and is under discussion.
Prime Minister Oljas Bektenov stated in response to a parliamentary inquiry that administrative liability will be imposed for indecent expressions on online platforms.
The move was triggered by a viral video showing participants in a transformation training using unethical language, sparking public outcry.
The bill is expected to be submitted to parliament this month. If passed, fines will apply both offline and to online comments and posts.
