Iran's late Supreme Leader Seyyed Ali Khamenei is reportedly to be buried in Mashhad.

Oxu.Az reports, citing the "Azad Iran" Telegram channel, that the deputy governor of Khorasan Razavi province made the announcement.

According to the information, the funeral ceremony will begin in Tehran, then move to Qom. On the third day, after a ceremony in Mashhad, the body will be laid to rest.

Allegedly, Khamenei's body will be buried in the shrine of Imam Reza.

It is noted that the source claims Khamenei was killed on February 28, 2026, during US and Israeli airstrikes. This information has not been independently verified.
