Lake Baikal boat accident: 5 dead, 13 rescued

A tragic accident occurred on Lake Baikal in Russia's Buryatia Republic. A Khivus boat capsized with 18 passengers on board.

Five people died, while 13 were rescued. Rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the scene.

The prosecutor's office reported that the accident happened near Cherepakha area, about 30 meters from shore. One injured person was hospitalized.
