The Iranian judiciary has denied a request to temporarily suspend the sentence of Nobel Peace Prize winner and human rights defender Narges Mohammadi for urgent medical treatment. Although Zanjan province's forensic medical board confirmed her critical condition and recommended a one-month reprieve, the court refused.

According to the "Free Iran" Telegram channel, family members who visited her yesterday reported that her health has deteriorated to a life-threatening level. Mohammadi, who has suffered two heart attacks previously, remains in critical condition.

Narges Mohammadi was arrested on December 12 last year in Mashhad during a memorial ceremony for lawyer Khosrow Alikurdi, along with several other activists. Since then, her family has repeatedly raised alarms about her deteriorating health.
