Following a National Security Commission meeting, all municipalities in Lithuania must ensure shelters operate 24/7.
According to Oxu.Az citing national broadcaster LRT, the decision came after an emergency meeting on May 20 amid rising drone incidents.
Early that day, unidentified drones were spotted in border areas, triggering air raid alerts.
The commission praised the warning system's performance, contrasting with a delayed alert on May 17 when a drone carrying explosives was found in Utena.
Authorities vowed to accelerate public warnings: "Even if the threat is false, we will inform people more frequently and promptly."
By summer's end, all radars will be integrated into a centralized system for maximum airspace control.
