In April 1994, the body of Igor Prudnikov was found near Ryazan, Russia, with a stab wound to the neck.
The investigation failed to identify the perpetrator, and the case remained unsolved. In 1995, his ex-wife Svetlana, a man named Sergey, and another acquaintance were detained but released due to lack of evidence.
They left Ryazan and cut ties. Sergey moved to Plotavtsevo village, introduced himself as Nikolay, and lived quietly. In 2016, he was officially declared dead.
Years later, the investigation reopened. Genetic tests confirmed his identity. The 60-year-old suspect is now in custody.
