Ghislaine Maxwell, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison for involvement in sex crimes, has filed a motion to have her conviction overturned or revised following the release of new documents related to financier Jeffrey Epstein's case.
According to Aif.ru, citing court documents, Maxwell is asking the court to vacate, invalidate, or modify her sentence.
The motion cites materials recently made public under the Epstein documents transparency law. Maxwell claims the new documents contain crucial evidence not previously presented in court.
She also alleges that some witnesses gave false testimony and that serious procedural violations occurred during the trial.
The motion argues that the cumulative effect of these alleged violations constitutes a significant miscarriage of justice and calls into question the legality of the verdict.
The U.S. Department of Justice was supposed to release all documents related to Epstein's case by December 19. In total, over 100,000 pages of material have been published, with some parts leaked to the press only weeks after the deadline.
