Maimunah Mohd Sharif, former Executive Director of the UN-Habitat program, stated during WUF13 that leaders should focus on building connections related to climate change.

She said: "After returning to Malaysia, we will discuss the outcomes of plans and how to implement adopted decisions."

Sharif emphasized that leaders must take a leading role in issues like economy, food security, housing, and human well-being. Noting that cities are complex structures, she stressed that climate change, sustainability, and the future of cities are inseparable.

Touching on the implementation of COP29 decisions in cities, the guest noted that the World Urban Forum deals with urbanization and city development, and these decisions should be applied not only in Baku but worldwide.
