Published in The Lancet, the study was conducted by an international team from China, the US, Australia, and Russia.
Analyzing data from 204 countries between 1990 and 2023, researchers found depression, anxiety, and schizophrenia among the fastest-growing conditions.
Young girls aged 15-19 are particularly vulnerable. Experts emphasize the need for early treatment and preventive measures.
