A 21-meter tall statue of Lionel Messi in India is set to be dismantled due to safety concerns.

According to Oxu.Az citing BBC, the statue was installed last December.

West Bengal state deputy Sharadvata Mukherjee said inspections revealed the statue swayed in the wind and was unstable.

The statue was secured with extra cables and a barrier was erected to keep people and traffic away.

Indian authorities are also considering relocating the statue to another site.
