Representatives of Israel and Lebanon have agreed to extend the ceasefire for an additional 45 days.
Oxu.Az reports that this was announced by US State Department official Tommy Piqott on the social network X.
According to him, the parties reached this decision during talks held in the US on May 14-15.
Tommy Piqott stated that the State Department will organize the next round of negotiations between the two countries on June 2-3.
He also revealed that security meetings with military delegations from Israel and Lebanon will be held at the Pentagon on May 29.
"We hope these discussions will help establish lasting peace between the two countries, mutual recognition of sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as provide real security along the common border," Tommy Piqott emphasized.
