Political scientist Rashad Bayramov commented to Oxu.Az on President Ilham Aliyev's speech in Zangilan. He assessed the termination of the OSCE Minsk Group's activities as Azerbaijan's diplomatic success.
Bayramov stated that the Minsk Group failed to establish a fair resolution mechanism for nearly 30 years. The co-chairs demonstrated double standards, prolonging the occupation.
He noted that UN Security Council resolutions were not implemented. Azerbaijan restored its territorial integrity during the 44-day Patriotic War.
The political scientist emphasized that the removal of the Minsk Group from the agenda at the Washington meeting in August 2025 confirms the new geopolitical reality. This strengthens Azerbaijan's position in the international arena.
