Moscow has recorded an anomalous heatwave, breaking a 129-year-old temperature record.

According to the Russian Hydrometeorology Center, thermometers hit +30°C. The previous record was +29.7°C on May 20, 1897.

A day earlier, on May 19, another record was set: +30.3°C, surpassing the 1979 record by 0.1°C.
