In Safonovo, Russia, a married couple stole food from a refrigerator and killed their acquaintance. The stolen items were two packs of cutlets, dumplings, and chicken meat.

According to Oxu.Az, citing mk.ru, the Russian Investigative Committee for the Smolensk region reported the incident.

The crime occurred on May 19. The couple initially drank alcohol with the 40-year-old man at his apartment, then returned home. Later, they secretly went back to his home. While taking food from the refrigerator, the homeowner came into the kitchen.

A quarrel ensued. The woman grabbed a knife, but her husband took it from her and struck the acquaintance several times in the neck. Then the woman hit the homeowner with a rolling pin. The man died from his injuries.

The couple fled the scene with the food. Both are now in custody. They have been charged with murder committed by a group for mercenary motives.
