Three people have died in New Mexico, US, after contact with an unknown substance. Some doctors who responded to the scene were also hospitalized.

Mountainair Mayor Peter Nieto said emergency workers found two bodies. A third person later died.

The mayor stated the cause of death is unknown but the substance may be transmitted from person to person.
