NATO member states are looking for replacements for US troops and equipment that are planned to be withdrawn from the European continent.
According to Oxu.Az, citing Politico, the matter has been assigned to NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General Aleksus Qrinkevic.
Washington plans to withdraw 5,000 troops from Germany. According to sources, this decision aims to reduce the US military presence in Germany. Part of the division destined for Poland could replace the troops currently in Germany.
It remains unclear whether the replacement decisions will be made within NATO's next four-year defense planning cycle or sooner.
