Romanian President Nicusor Dan has appointed Eugen Tomac as Prime Minister.
Oxu.Az reports this citing Digi24 TV channel.
The head of state stated that after parliament dismissed the government of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, coalition parties could not reach an agreement, so he chose an independent candidate. According to Dan, Tomac has the necessary experience and values for this position.
The new Prime Minister assured that the cabinet will responsibly manage the budget, fulfill its commitments, and place people's interests at the center of its activities. The source writes that he has 10 days to form a government and secure a vote of confidence.
However, according to Digi24, the National Liberal Party and the Save Romania Union have already stated that they will not support the government if it includes representatives of the Social Democratic Party.
