In 2025, the global number of millionaires and their total wealth reached historic highs. This is driven by positive stock market dynamics and easing inflation.
According to a survey of 6,510 wealthy individuals from America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, the number of millionaires grew by 7.9% to 25.3 million. Their total capital increased by 8.7% to $98.3 trillion, the highest since 2018.
A millionaire is defined as someone with over $1 million in investable assets regardless of primary residence. The AI boom fueled stock markets. However, wealth remains highly concentrated: the top 1% control about 35% of all assets.
