Since the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, US law enforcement has seized over 400 unauthorized drones near stadiums and sports venues.
According to Oxu.Az, FBI Director Kash Patel announced this on social media.
"In cooperation with other services across the country, we confiscated over 400 drones launched near no-fly zone facilities," Patel said.
He added that special ground teams have been deployed in all 11 host cities to seize drones.
The US Federal Aviation Administration had earlier imposed no-fly zones around 23 stadiums and facilities hosting matches and events. Violators face drone confiscation and fines of $75,000-$100,000.
The 2026 World Cup runs from June 11 to July 19 in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
