An incident involving hazardous materials occurred at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. Several floors and corridors have been isolated, and evacuation measures are underway in other parts of the building.
According to CNN, the incident was reported by three informed sources and the local fire department. Air quality issues were detected inside the building.
Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell confirmed that precautionary measures have been taken. Rapid response teams are on site. The fire department stated that a specialized hazardous materials unit is operating at the scene.
Sources say the area from the second floor to the fifth floor has been blocked. Police officers are equipped with gas masks and chemical protective clothing.
