The death toll from the collapse of a nine-story building under construction in the Philippines has risen to 17.

According to ABS-CBN News, three people are still missing. Search and rescue operations are ongoing at the site.

The collapse occurred on May 24. In the first hours, 26 people were rescued. A Malaysian tourist staying at a nearby hotel was injured and later died from his injuries.

Earlier reports had put the death toll at 11.
