Polish President Karol Nawrocki, during a meeting with journalists, accused Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz of foolishness and failing to perform his duties.
Oxu.Az reports this, citing the Interia.pl internet portal.
The head of state reacted this way to the defense minister's statement on May 28. In that statement, the minister noted that "the presidential office is not the navel of the world" and that the government is not obliged to inform the president in advance about all international agreements being prepared.
The next phase of the conflict between the president and the government was triggered by the defense and security agreement signed on May 27 by the Prime Ministers of Poland and Great Britain, Donald Tusk and Keir Starmer. Nawrocki was not familiarized with the text of this document in advance.
"I inform the government once again: if you want me to sign something, inform me about the content of the document to be signed," Nawrocki said.
