On June 3, a powerful solar flare was recorded. Scientists call it the strongest in recent months.
The Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported on Telegram that the flare reached M9.3 level.
The event occurred at 5:36 AM Baku time. Its strength was only 7% less than the highest X-class flare.
Experts note that the flare occurred almost at the center of the solar disk. Therefore, plasma flows may be directed straight toward Earth.
However, scientists currently consider the event harmless. The situation will be monitored in the coming days.
