Armenia's Investigative Committee has brought charges against Narek Karapetyan, who leads the election list of the "Strong Armenia" alliance. He is accused of concealing his foreign citizenship.

According to Oxu.Az, Armenian media reported this. It is noted that N. Karapetyan, against whom a criminal case has been opened, is the nephew of well-known businessman and leader of the "Strong Armenia" alliance, Samvel Karapetyan.

According to the Investigative Committee, the criminal case was initiated based on a notification from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The investigation claims that Narek Karapetyan deliberately concealed information about being a citizen of another country.

Narek Karapetyan denies the accusations, stating that he has never been a citizen of any country other than Armenia. However, Armenian parliament speaker Alen Simonyan shared information on his social network account about him being a Russian citizen.

It is worth noting that the "Strong Armenia" alliance led by Samvel Karapetyan is considered one of the main rivals of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's team in the parliamentary elections scheduled for June 7.
