At least 13 people were killed and 66 injured in an explosion at a gas processing plant in Qatar's Ras Laffan industrial zone.
Energy Minister Saad bin Sherida al-Kaabi said the incident was an accident and would not affect natural gas exports.
The Interior Ministry reported 54 injured and 18 missing. Search and rescue operations are ongoing.
Residents in Doha had earlier reported feeling tremors resembling an earthquake.
The blast is believed to have been caused by an operational error at the Barzan gas plant.
