US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that trilateral talks between Russia, the US, and Ukraine have been halted.
Speaking to journalists at a NATO foreign ministers meeting in Sweden, Rubio stated that no negotiations are currently taking place between Moscow, Washington, and Kyiv regarding the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
He noted that previous talks yielded no results. Rubio emphasized that the US remains ready to mediate: "We are prepared to continue playing this role. If someone else wants to do it, let them. But apparently, there is no one else in the world capable of handling this now."
Rubio also said the US is not interested in endless meetings without outcomes. He stressed that there is no military solution to the conflict: "This war can only end through negotiations. It will not end with a military victory by either side."
