Businessman and leader of the Strong Armenia party, Samvel Karapetyan, has sued Armenian Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan for defamation. He demands 6 million drams in moral compensation.

According to Oxu.Az citing Armenian media, Karapetyan's defense requests the court to order Simonyan to retract defamatory statements made on May 19 on TikTok and Facebook.

Simonyan had called on law enforcement to investigate Karapetyan's alleged ties to a foreign intelligence service. Karapetyan's defense denies the claims, stating they are false and damage his reputation.
