Former Russian senator Rauf Arashukov, serving a life sentence, offered a $5 million bribe to staff at the Black Dolphin prison for privileges.
He met with the head of the operational department five times. Initially, he offered $5 million, later proposing 5 million rubles and 1 million rubles for benefits like unlimited phone calls and visits.
The court rejected his request for a witness. Arashukov was detained in 2019 and sentenced to life in 2022 for organizing murders and embezzlement.
On January 13, 2026, the Orenburg court sentenced him to an additional 10 years and a 120 million ruble fine, combined with his life sentence.
