Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has revealed that three countries are secretly preparing to provide financial aid to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He made this statement to local media.
According to Zelensky, the unnamed nations have agreed to discreetly join NATO's Priority Needs List initiative to supply weapons to Kyiv. The agreement was reached at the European Union summit held in Cyprus.
The expected amount of funding is approximately 350-400 million euros. This money will be used to purchase weapons to meet the urgent needs of the Ukrainian army.
It is worth recalling that the European Council recently approved the 20th sanctions package against Russia. Additionally, a procedure for approving 90 billion euros in financing for Ukraine covering 2026-2027 has been finalized.
The EU's position is that the funds allocated for military operations will be compensated in the future by reparations from Russia. The loan will be financed through European credits raised on commercial markets with the guarantee of the EU budget.
