The U.S. Senate has blocked a resolution aimed at limiting President Donald Trump's military powers regarding Iran.
According to CBS News, the vote resulted in 48 senators opposing the measure to bring the resolution to the floor, while 47 supported it.
The resolution, which sought to restrict Trump's authority to use military force against Iran without congressional approval, was stalled in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Four Republican senators—Susan Collins of Maine, Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, and Rand Paul of Kentucky—joined Democrats in supporting the resolution.
Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania was the only Democrat to vote against the measure.
