The US Supreme Court on June 30 rejected President Donald Trump's executive order that aimed to end birthright citizenship, ruling it unconstitutional.
The Court affirmed that children born in the US to undocumented immigrants and temporary residents are entitled to citizenship.
Chief Justice John Roberts wrote the majority opinion, with six justices voting to strike down the order. Three conservative justices dissented.
Roberts emphasized that citizenship is a constitutional right protected by the 14th Amendment.
