Swiss voters have rejected a proposal to limit the population to 10 million in a referendum held on Sunday. According to Bloomberg, 55% voted against the proposal, while 45% supported it.
The initiative was brought forward by right-wing and anti-immigration groups, who argued that rapid population growth puts pressure on resources.
However, the government, parliament, and major businesses opposed the move, warning that it could harm the economy and limit access to foreign labor.
