UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported that a tanker was attacked off the coast of Oman, resulting in a fuel leak into the sea.
The incident occurred 60 nautical miles east of Muscat. The captain reported an external explosion on the port side near the waterline.
The crew and vessel are safe, but some bunker fuel leaked into the sea. An investigation has been launched.
UKMTO advised vessels in the region to exercise caution and report suspicious activity. Since the US-Israel war against Iran, 25 ships have been attacked in the Persian Gulf.
