Tehran and Doha have reached an agreement to unblock $6 billion of Iran's $12 billion assets held in Qatar.
According to Oxu.Az citing TASS, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian confirmed the deal.
Pezeshkian stated: "Based on the agreements reached, $6 billion out of the total $12 billion of Iran's funds held in Qatar will be unblocked and returned. Work continues on returning the remaining funds."
Earlier, on June 20, The Wall Street Journal reported that the US and Qatar are working on a mechanism to allow Iran to use a portion of its frozen assets for humanitarian goods.
