The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said it disabled an oil tanker heading to Iran in the Gulf of Oman.
According to Oxu.Az, the information was posted on CENTCOM's social media account.
The tanker "M/T Marivex" flying the flag of Palau was targeted for failing to comply with US forces' instructions. The vessel, moving in international waters, was struck with high precision by an F/A-18 Super Hornet launched from the USS Abraham Lincoln.
The strike rendered the tanker's steering and engine room inoperable.
CENTCOM noted that since the Iranian naval blockade imposed on April 13, US forces have diverted 134 vessels, allowed 42 humanitarian flights, and disabled seven ships allegedly violating the restrictions.
