Galatasaray footballer Lucas Torreira was attacked in Istanbul's Beyoğlu district.

The Uruguayan player was leaving a shopping mall with his girlfriend when a 32-year-old man named Yusuf started a verbal argument.

The argument escalated, and the suspect punched Torreira. Redness was found between his left eyebrow and eye.

The suspect tried to flee by taxi but was detained. Torreira filed a complaint and a lawsuit.

It was revealed that Torreira's girlfriend had previously complained about the same suspect and obtained a restraining order. The suspect also has a criminal record for assault. Investigation continues.
