A tourist in Brazil lost his life after losing his balance and falling from a cliff while trying to take a photo.

The incident occurred on the morning of June 28 at the Pedra do Macaco trail in the city of Maricá. Caio Rocha Aguiar Arrabal, 44, climbed onto a rock platform to take a picture but lost his balance.

A woman who was with him recorded the event. In the footage, she can be heard urging him to be careful, and seconds later, she starts screaming.

According to reports, Caio was accompanying a tourist group from Araruama. He was navigating the route for the first time and did not have an official tour guide license.

Due to the rugged terrain and dense vegetation, rescuers could not reach the scene immediately. A helicopter was deployed in the rescue operation that lasted about four hours. However, by the time rescuers arrived, the tourist had already died from severe injuries.

A representative of the Maricá Civil Defense, Mateus Moura, stated that the deceased attempted to descend in an unsafe direction from the rock.
