The US plans to launch new and severe strikes against Iran in the coming hours.
Oxu.Az reports, citing TASS, that US President Donald Trump stated this while answering journalists' questions at the White House.
"We struck them hard yesterday. Today we will strike again, hard," the US president said.
According to him, the decision is linked to Iranian forces shooting down a US helicopter.
"I believe we have the right to do this," Trump added.
Earlier, the US side confirmed that an AH-64 Apache helicopter was shot down over the Strait of Hormuz. The versions of the incident presented by the parties differ.
