US President Donald Trump confirmed on June 9 that Iran shot down an American Apache helicopter in the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump wrote on his social media account that Iran will have to answer for this action.
“Senior military officials informed me that last night Iran shot down one of our Apache helicopters while on night patrol over the Strait of Hormuz. The US must respond decisively,” he added.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that both crew members were rescued within about two hours and are in stable condition.
