US President Donald Trump commented on Iran's missile attack on Israel.

In an interview with Fox News, he advised Tehran to return to the negotiating table.

"I say to Iran: you have fired enough, that's enough. Now return to the negotiating table," Trump said.

The US leader added that amid tensions with Iran, American troops have been placed on high alert.

After Iran launched missiles toward Israel, air raid sirens were activated in Jordan, and explosions were heard over Damascus, the capital of Syria.

Earlier, the Israeli army reported missile launches from Iranian territory and activated its air defense systems. Iran stated that the attack was in response to Israeli strikes on Lebanon.
