President Donald Trump has hinted that Venezuela could become the 51st state of the US. He shared a photo on social media depicting this intention.
The image shows Venezuela in the colors of the US flag with the words "51st State" above it. In January, Trump stated he wanted to make Canada, Greenland, and Venezuela US states.
According to Fox News reporter Josh Roberts, Trump is seriously considering annexing Venezuela. However, Venezuela's interim President Delcy Rodriguez said no such talks have taken place and the plan is impossible.
Recall that on January 3, the US conducted a large-scale operation in Venezuela, resulting in the arrest of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores, who were taken to New York. Trump accused them of narco-terrorism and threatening the US.
