US President Donald Trump stated that the situation in the negotiation process between Washington and Tehran is developing rapidly, and his position may change depending on circumstances.
According to Oxu.Az, the White House head said in an interview with the New York Post: "Facts and circumstances change very quickly. My answer may not be relevant 20 minutes later."
The president said he has not made a final decision on a possible agreement with Iran: "Now I have to make a decision: do we sign a deal or go another way? The other way is unpleasant."
Trump noted that the alternative scenario would allow a quick end to the conflict, but for humanitarian reasons, he would prefer a diplomatic solution.
The US president emphasized that Iran has agreed to refrain from developing nuclear weapons, and a potential agreement could lead to "many good results."
Additionally, Trump did not rule out that the naval blockade against Iran could continue until Labor Day (first Monday in September) in the US. At the same time, he expressed hope that the situation would be resolved soon.
