U.S. President Donald Trump has instructed Acting CIA Director Bill Pulte to begin reducing the agency's workforce.
According to Oxu.Az, Trump stated this in an interview with The Wall Street Journal.
Trump said he wants to see a smaller agency, believing there are "too many people in the wrong positions" in the current system.
The newspaper reports that the U.S. president considers the CIA "unnecessary or overly large." The agency coordinates 18 intelligence agencies and units.
Trump also added that a future review of the agency's role is not ruled out. He noted that some government structures have been downsized and suggested that this agency could also be significantly reduced.
